SSR – Testicular Aspiration

Surgical Sperm Retrieval

SSR - Testicular Aspiration - In Vitro Fertilization - Centre FIV MitosisSome men have no sperm cells in their semen, although they are produced in the testicles.
This can be a result of:

  • infertility,
  • obstruction of the vas deferens,
  • immaturity of sperm cells that does not allow them to leave the testicles.

In such cases, sperm is taken from the epididymis with a fine aspiration needle or testicular biopsy or by puncture. This process of testicular aspiration is performed under analgesia and is very effective when combined with ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection).
