Preserving Eggs in optimal condition
The eggs of women are particularly susceptible to freeze – thaw cycles. Therefore, the development of the method of ova cryopreservation was slow compared to the cryopreservation of sperm and embryos.
The ova cryopreservation is indicated as a method of preserving women’s genetic material:
- when a woman wants to postpone having a child for the future,
- in special cases, i.e. when a woman is to receive chemotherapy.
